surreal

my life has felt surreal for quite some time now
like i've been walking around in an endless dream
it seems like i know where it's going
but actually i know nothing at all
i don't know what to make of it.

i keep falling asleep
with all of my clothes on
thinking that my day will never end
and since my brain rarely dreams
it feels like my life is a constant one

i've pondered it for hours on end
and have come to no conclusion
i still have the sensation that i'm floating through my days

and i'm scared of what will happen when i finally come down.

so i was wondering...if right now the square is more like a triangle and a dot, then does that make us an arrow? What are we pointing to? oregon? no no no no, i've got it. the bering strait! there some people are having a monday while others are already fully into tuesday. kind of like transcending time (not exactly...) and the square transcends space (i would guess that in each of our hearts there's always four little dots extending out at 90 degree angles!) therefore, the arrow must point there, it's only logical and complete.

On Monday we saw a memorial from September 11, I didn't react how I thought I would. For some reason I had to read all of the names. There were six people with the last name Hughes. I read all the ages of the people who died as well. What saddened me most: the youngest age was 6.

We sat in a chapel and I sang Be thou my vision.

And the cathedral was so big. I was in awe, it was so beautiful.

earlier tonight my mom and sister were reading out of this book about what the meanings of birthdays are. i thought it was interesting. i felt that the descriptions were right and wrong in all cases. i guess that's just the nature of fortune telling birthday books. anyways, these are the four birthdays of the square.

so i just watched Almost Famous for the first time. I loved it! I laughed so much, but not too much. Amazing. The airplane scene: confession (thank you for that!). I decided that we all need to be tossed around in an airplane and tell the complete truth every once in awhile. It's good. And even though they were rockstars, that's how we all feel. No one really acts and says what they really want....at least not all the time. We all think we're better than someone else. And we all know that someone else thinks they're better than us. [i guess that's too many generalizations, so if you don't fit into what i just said...you're lucky. please share :-) ] It was a movie about life and it was lovely!
